Abstract:
Practical exercise serves as a bridge between lectures and students'
independent work. While doing the practice, key concepts of the IP telephony course
are experimentally verified, practical skills in configuring and troubleshooting IP
telephony scenarios are acquired, and the understanding of the fundamental aspects
of the subject is assessed. Students also become acquainted with typical solutions to
various IP telephony problems during these sessions.
Practical exercise is conducted on personal computers with a configured
FreePBX (Asterisk) IP telephony server. It is assumed that students are familiar with
basic personal computer operations. If such skills are lacking, students are expected
to acquire them during independent practical exercise. It is also assumed that
students have at least an intermediate English level.
Students are required to read the methodological guidelines for the practical
exercise and attempt to complete it independently before the practical session.
During the practical session, students present their results to the teacher, consult on
any issues, and finalize their work. The scope of the completed work may vary
depending on the grade the student is aiming for.
