| dc.description.abstractalt1 | Urgency of the research. In present-day conditions, the problems which are related to social protection of war veterans become especially topical and acute. Target setting. Adequate funding of state guarantees for social protection of war veterans is absent and most of the legislation specific benefits and compensations for veterans either do not work or have lost their significance due to changing of social and economic relations. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The issue of public policy in the sphere of social protection of war veterans became the subject of the scientific researches of N. B. Bolotina, S. M. Sinchuk, I. M. Syrota, B. I. Stashkiv, I. S. Yaroshenko and other native scientists. Uninvestigatigated parts of general matters defining. Carrying out of the public policy on war veterans needs improvement of the social security legislation framework, ensuring the consideration and adoption of the draft laws aimed at the development of the retirement, housing and communal supply, transport and health services, prevention to amend the legislation which would contradict the Constitution of Ukraine and limit the rights of veterans. The research objective. The purpose of this article is to study the legislative and regulatory framework for social protection of war veterans and to analyse the peculiarities of public policy on the subsistence of war veterans in the modern world. The statement of basic materials. The Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of Their Social Protection” defines the legal status of war veterans, ensures creating appropriate conditions for their subsistence and contributes to the formation of respect for them in the society. Ukraine has a formed system of government aimed at providing and implementing public policy in the sphere of social protection of war veterans. This is the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Advisory Council on improving of the social protection of war veterans and the State Service of Ukraine for war veterans and anti-terrorist operation participants in particular. Conclusions. Public policy in the sphere of social protection of war veterans is a system of legal, social, economic and political measures and means which are put into effect directly or indirectly by public authorities and aim at creating appropriate conditions for life support and contributing to forming respect for veterans in the society. | en_US |
